Announcement: Guest Players: You can guest play up to 4 games per season. You can guest play enough players to only have 3 subs on the team. Any single player cannot play more than 2 games a day. Please be smart about how many age brackets to play up (ex. 12 yr old playing up on a u15 team, etc.) - safety of the player is first and foremost important. You must notify the ref and the coach of the other team about your guest player/s prior to the start of the game. Each player MUST have a valid player card from your club at the game in order to play that day. This is an insurance mandate. NO EXCEPTIONS. Emails still need to be sent to Michael Harrington at harring@netins.net about guest players by Thursday night if at all possible. If your are unable to notify him by Thursday night, you are still expected to notify him as soon as possible so it can be tracked by ILLOWA.
Announcement: Glasses: There is no mandate that players cannot wear glasses. We strongly urge parents to buy the rubber goggles, but rules do not state players cannot wear glasses.
Announcement: Casts: Rules state that there can be "no unyielding surface" that is exposed (a soft cast is ok). Example: a hard cast wrapped in foam, bubble wrap - yields so this is ok; hard splint - without soft padding around it is not yielding so it would not be ok. The cast/brace need to be examined by the ref before the game - ref makes final decision (no one can overrule a ref decision) (ILLOWA or field marshals cannot overrule the ref's decision). The cast rule is going to be rewritten and posted on the ILLOWA website.
